| NetApp's Windows Host Utility Kit 5.3 has been released: |
 |
Download |
Includes the following changes:
- The diagnostic programs
such as controller_info.exe, are replaced by the nSANity diagnostic program. The nSANity program is not included with Windows Host Utilities; you download, install, and run it when requested to do so by technical support.
- A new script is provided to set required timeouts for Linux guest operating systems.
- The mbralign.exe program detects and corrects the alignment of block boundaries in VHD files to ensure best read/write performance.
- The Emulex and QLogic HBA timeout values are changed to reduce the time needed to resume I/O after a fault.
- If the Host Utilities installation program detects the Data ONTAP DSM for Windows MPIO software on the host, it skips most Windows registry and HBA settings. It relies instead on the values set by the DSM installation program.
- RADIUS authentication is supported for iSCSI initiators with Data ONTAP 8.0 targets. * New Microsoft Windows hotfixes are required.

| NetApp System Manager 1.1: |
 |
Download |
It includes:
- New quota management: System Manager now helps you to manage your quotas. You can create, edit, configure and delete quotas using a wizard. You can also define quotas when you create a volume or qtree using the Quotas tab in the Volume Create or Qtree Create dialog boxes.
- New V-series support: System Manager provides complete support for V-series system array LUNS. An array LUN is a group of disks or disk partitions in a span of storage space.
- New as it is recognized by V-series. Instead of direct attached disks, you can view the array LUNS, create aggregates and add array LUNS to an existing aggregate.
- New larger aggregate support (16TB or larger): When configured with Data ONTAP 8.0, System Manager supports aggregates larger than 16TB.
- New NFS protocol configuration: System Manager now supports NFS protocol configuration using the System Manager GUI.
- Existing seamless Windows integration: Integrates seamlessly into your management environment by using the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
- Existing discovery and setup of storage systems: Enables you to quickly discover a stroage system or an active/active configuration (HA pair) on a network subnet. You can easily setup a new system and configure it for storage.
- Existing SAN provisioning: Provides a workflow for LUN provisioning as well as simple aggregate and FlexVol creation.
- Existing network-attached storage (NAS) provisioning: Provides a unified workflow for CIFS and NFS provisioning as well as management of shares and exports.
- Existing management of storage systems: Provides ongoing managment of your storage system or active/active configuration (HA pair).
- Existing streamlined active/active configuration (HA pair) management: Provides a combined setup for active/active configuration (HA pair) of NetApp systems, logical grouping and managment of such a configuration in the console or navigation tree and common configuration changes for both systems in an active/active configuration (HA pair).
- Existing Systray (Windows notification area): Provides real-time monitoring and notification of key health-related events for a NetApp system.
- iSCSI and FC: Manages iSCSI and FC protocol services for exporting data to host systems.
